Christmas Party
This years Cowboys And Cowgirls Christmas party is a benifit in aid of KIPTIK.
Fancy dress theme will be LAST NIGHT ON EARTH to tie in with the Mayan prophecy that our time is up on the 21st December. More details to follow, but start planning outfits and booking babysitters now!!!
Tickets are £3 from you team manager/captain. There are also some available from The Plough for non-sports types. However, please can you pay the £3 donation whether you are asked to or not.

The Div 11s took on Div 10 Sparks in a friendly in miserable weather tonight. We tried out some new combinations in both circles in advance of our Saturday match and we improved hugely as the match wore on. Though the final score was 21-8, we did really well, especially considering that many of us weren’t playing the positions we know best. It was great to welcome back some Cowgirls we haven’t seen in a while too!

Netball was wet:
The sixes found their fire again this Saturday against Optimum and won 44-29! Mair got the double whammy vote of player and everyone had a blast and buzzing off a win after a rough patch and 5 defeats in a row. SHweet.
The soggy toos got beaten today 28 – 12 by Panthers – it rained the w-h-o-l-e time. We played out of formation as were missing cappy Rach and Misty moo is all bump-er-licious now. Max stepped up into GK and guarded that D like it was her front door, Holly has become an ace GD and Kate played as GA and said in the pub she’s eat, sleep and breathe netball from now on. Huge thanks to Rosie and Emma B for standing the in pissing rain as subs! We’ll ‘ave em next time! They played defensively… We were ahead in the first quarter but they pulled away with some solid shooting and interceptions when the ball was in play. Holly got player from us and Cat from them. Watch out Panthers (another stupid name too).

I am always reluctant to vote for a man of the match because they score goals. I did not capitulate this time either. I voted for Darren. One of our centre backs. We were 4 – 0 up at half time. One goal less than the last games half time result. I can’t not bring the subs on and mess about with the team. I wasn’t tinkering I was really fucking about. So everyone was changing about and confident and we knocked 4 more in by the end. During which the opposition decided to show off what they had. They got 2 goals back but which could have been more after they lost their shyness and started to bang it long ball up front. Darren stopped at least 5 one on ones with our keeper, Angelo.
Bongo had a very good game. After watching Englands game against Sweden tonight I thought of him. Tenacious, fight, determination, aggressiveness, skill and goals!! And one more goal than Ibrahimovic. Suck on that trophy hunter. A definite eye catcher if you come to see us play.
We are beginning to get a good temperament although only being tested so far by the Saturday A Team. We have not been brought down to our opponents level, all due respect. Confidence is the name of the game. However if you sit through Eddies court you wouldn’t think so. I like it when he worries. It’s the happiest and best I’ve seen him play. I’m sure he’ll tell me when he was happier and playing better though!

The 6’s had a cracking match against one of the division leaders today, we lost 27-48 but loved every second. Max from the too’s stepped in for a sick Dainty with style and Lou narrowly avoided puking on the sideline. Miss tickle got player from them and jointly from us with Our Mare and Lou. Game on!
