Cricket News
Some of the Cricket Team are heading to Sri Lanka in March and meeting up at the England Test Match on the 26th. If enough people get there games of cricket will be organised. It looks as though we may have a tour to North Italy in September/October 2012.
The Cricket Awards Do will be announced soon and will be at Bristol West Indies on either 21st or 22nd October.
The Team have entered an 8-a-side indoor league at Cottham School gym. This is on Tuesday nights at 7pm from Tuesday 4th. If you fancy playing contact Rob (or email webgimp@eastoncowfolk.org.uk and I will forward it). This league is not like the ‘cage’ cricket we previously played and is meant to be a little more like real cricket.
Winter indoor nets will start at the beginning of November in the Indoor School at the County Ground.
Weekend Football Results
24/09/2011
The Downs A lost to Clifton St Vincents Res. 1-3 in the league.
The Downs B beat Durdham Down Adult School 3-7 (or 3-6 depending on whether you believe the GFA website of the Cowboys Twitter).
According to Molly on the facebook group the Suburbans won their GFA game against Ridings High and scored 6 goals. For some reason the GFA is not admitting this at the present time.
I am not sure about Netball. I do not have a fixtures list and the League website, although revamped, is still shit.
25/09/2011
The Sundays got off to a uncertain start to the defence of their GFA Cup defence beating Clifton Downs 11-0.
The Ultra Casuals beat EA Sports 2-2. If I my memory is correct this is only the second time they have not lost.
Tweet
The men’s football team now have a twitter account thanks to GB. Keep track of all the stuff and ‘ting www.twitter.com/EastonCowboys.
If you were to visit the twitter feed you would see this:
@EastonCowboys B’s vs Durdham Down Adult School. Saturday, 14:00, @TheDownsLeague – #Bristol Downs.
and:
@EastonCowboys A’s vs Clifton St Vincents Res. Saturday, 14:00,@TheDownsLeague – #Bristol Downs.
I am over 40 and so the Gods of Demographics do not allow me to use, or indeed understand twitter.
If the Sunday team had opposable thumbs they could also post on twitter and announce t0 the world that the defence of their GFA Cup starts on Sunday. They play Clifton Downs at BAWA.
The Suburbans also play in the GFA Cup tomorrow (Saturday) at home against Ridings High.

There will be a meeting for people interested in organising a tournament for the Cowboys 20th Anniversary next year, or possible a 21st Anniversary in 2012. It will be at Hawks Gym at 7pm on Monday 3rd October 2011.
