If the Cowfolk are doing it, this is where it’s at…
Stuff From The Peashooter
The End Of Season Awards Do is on Saturday 5th June 2010 at the Easton Community Centre from 7pm. Please note this is a change of date and location – last month’s Peashooter was incorrect.
There will be a sit down meal, a glass of bubbly, entertainment, DJs and the Awards to be presented by very special guests. The night will be hosted by the one and only Peewee. Dress code is black tie/cocktail wear. All of the above for only £5. Tickets and tables will be allocated to teams, the idea being that each team manager will give out the tickets. They will be ready by next weekend, so don’t hassle the managers until then (plenty to go around!) There is a meat or veggie option on the food and we will be running the bar, the tickets will have full details.
Dust off yer DJs and wipe down that party frock, cos we is given a bottle of bubbly to the best dressed cowfolk. (more…)

The Suburbans beat Ridings High Res 5-1 (home)

The Suburbans lost to Imperial Saints 3-5 (away). The Subuarbans have 2 games left and they are in fourth position in their division. There last home game is on Thursday night at Bristol west Indies.
The Saturday A Team had a double header against Sporting Greyhound (either that or the guy who does the league scores has lost the plot) they drew 0-0 and lost 0-3.
The Saturday Cricket Team lost their first league match of the season to Keynsham 3rd Team. ECCC lost the toss and with the ball swinging around on a dam pitch we struggled to 107 for 8 of 40 overs. Garner and Jeff (the fertile plumber) scored a feisty 18 and 16 respectfully to get us over 100. At tea the rain came and it was in a light drizzle that the ball stopped swinging and Keynsham managed to get the runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 24.5 overs. Roger took 4 of these wickets for 35 runs in 7.5 overs and Mark Treach took one of the best slip catches you are likely to see.

Both cricket games were rained off.
The Sunday football team seem to have finished 4th in the premier league (baring Katsura winning their final game by 20 goals). Played 14, won 6, drew 1, lost 7, for 52, against 59, points 19.

The Cricket Friendly Team played 1-in-12 Ev Reports thus:
1 in 12 scored 145 all out in 37.4 overs. Noggs scored 48 and Ben Salt 38 with wickets shared out among the cowboys. In the cowboys reply Bill Cullum top scored with 26 (and won man of the match) and Gabby scored 23 not out on debut. Sadly the game ended with an ambulance on the pitch after Mark Treacher suffered a nasty dislocation of the knee while batting. Abandoned as a draw with the cowboys on 131 for 7 with 2 overs remaining.

The Saturday B Team lost 0-4 to Tebby.
The Saturday A Team finished bottom of the 1st Division played 26, won 5, drew 3, lost 18, for 33, against 80, points 18.
The Saturday B Team lost finished bottom of the 2nd Division played 26, won 5, drew 0, lost 21, for 27, against 77, points 15.
Netball Team 1 seem to have finished 4th in Division 7 (the table is far from clear but I am assuming that Southside Reds capitulated), played 16, won 11, lost 5, for 605, against 387, points 56.
Netball Team 2 might finish 6th in Division 10. Others still have games but they played 16, won 5, lost 11, for 316, lost 444, points 27.
The Cricket team has a 20/20 friendly against the Angelo Bordi Memorial XI tomorrow night (Wednesday 5th) at Bristol West Indies, the bar will be open.
I think that that is everything.

The Saturday Cricket team played the Sunday Cricket Team in a friendly Bolts writes:

MOM Harry : bowling and batting
CM: ‘When Harry Met Gary’ – After Gary had begun launching Sundays’ attack to the boundary for 3 fours and 2 sixes, Harry bowled a slower ball and took out his off stump to much rejoicing.

The Sunday Team Drew with Beaufort 4-4 (away). The Sundays lie 4th in their league.

Wayne took three catches behind the stumps. The Cowboys got the runs in 31 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Pagey hit 36, Andy C hit 20 and Ian Higgins hit 20.
In the words of DCI – “Their skipper was miserable and arrogant when they arrived. By the time DC2 had finished with him he was just miserable.”

The Suburbans beat Ashton Seniors 6-0
17/04/2010
Netball double win!! The A’s beat Crossbow 48-35 with Mair getting the vote from them and Lou from us.
The Too’s won 35-14 with Donna getting the double vote.
The Saturday A Team lost 1-2 to Ashely.
The Saturday B Team had to for forfeit their game against Hare On The Hill
The Suburbans beat Totterdown POB 2-0
The cricket team had their first match of the season which was a friendly against Frenchay. Frenchay got 204 all out in the 40 over, which is considerably less than they looked like they might get at the 30 over mark. Débutant Ben bowled 8 overs, 1 maiden, 26 runs for 3 wickets. After a little Cowboys’ slap and tickle at tea the Webgimp was ashamed to post the first duck of summer but the other débutante, also called Ben, suffering from a heavy cold scored 48 as the Cowboys limped to 102 all out in the 39th over. It is worth noting that the Frenchay bowling attack was better than we are likely to face again this season.

The Ultra Casuals lost 5-0 to Undy Arthritic
The Sundays thumped AFC Redland 7-0
So both Saturday Downs League Teams are looking a little buggered, after a difficult season both are sitting firmly at the bottom of their respective divisions. On the bright side the Suburbans will finish mid-table in their first season in the Bristol & Suburban. The Sundays are also safe from relegation but in a league of just 8 teams I guess there is no mid-table respectability. As far as I can tell both netball teams are safe from relegation as well.
